Twitch has streaming deals in its new Shopping category

Live streams have become the new QVC programs, and Twitch is hopping onto the bandwagon. The Amazon-owned platform is linking up with its parent company to populate a new…

Our take

For Twitch streamers, the interesting part isn't the new homepage button but who it currently points to. Tubefilter, citing Kotaku, reports that the category's current faces are largely Amazon Live sellers rather than Twitch regulars. It adds that earlier shoppable streams reached only a limited number of creators. For now, that prime placement may mostly benefit Amazon's own sellers.

If you already sell merch or do affiliate work, watch whether access widens and on what terms. Tubefilter notes that views have been modest so far, and that the hub launched just before Prime Days. That sales event may show whether a gaming audience wants to shop. Wait for the numbers before you reshape your streams around it.

I'd also add that YouTube is doubling the bar for new channels: from February 2027 they'll need 8,000 watch hours or 20 million Shorts views to earn ad revenue, according to Social Media Today. So anything that can help you monetize your channel is good, and Amazon has historically had a very good affiliate program. Be careful, though, about hitching your wagon to just one horse.

TikTok is using a global placement network and agentic AI to plan a big ad push in 2027

TikTok came to Advertising Week New York 2026 with some big boasts -- and even bigger promises. The social video app sees itself as a hot target for brands and agencies h…

Tubefilter, citing Kantar, reports that marketers rank TikTok first for planned ad spend increases in 2027. That may mean more brand conversations for creators, but watch where the money goes. Tubefilter says the TikTok Ad Network, formerly Pangle, places ads across nearly 400,000 third-party apps, not on TikTok itself. A bigger ad push isn't automatically a bigger creator budget.

Tubefilter says Agentic Leads is meant to help brands qualify prospects and forge creator partnerships. If a brand finds you that way, ask how you were picked and who sets the terms. And if TikTok's AI Shopping Assistant closes a sale after your video, check that your commission still reaches you. Let a bot find you. Don't let it set your rate.

There’s now a monthly virtual support group for creators struggling with their mental health

Over the past five years, as our industry stepped into this new era of short-form mega consumption, AI-pushing productivity platforms, and Hollywood nods, two distinct th…

Our take

The gap this is trying to fill looks real. Tubefilter reports that a 2025 C4MH study found 62% of North American creators experience burnout sometimes or often. While 54% wanted peer support, only 27% had a community offering it. When you work alone, it's easy to go months without talking to anyone who actually gets the job.

The first session ran on Oct. 7; Tubefilter says they'll be monthly, and you RSVP through C4MH's socials. The report doesn't say whether sessions are recorded or how privacy is handled, so ask before sharing anything personal. And a monthly group is a supplement, not a substitute. If you're struggling now, don't wait for the next one.
